Understanding Tracking Delays
Tracking updates depend on packages being scanned at various points in the carrier network. Gaps in updates are common and usually do not indicate a problem.
Normal Delays
No initial scan for 24-48 hours after "Label Created": This is normal. The carrier hasn't picked up the package yet, or the initial pickup scan wasn't recorded. Wait 2 business days before contacting support.
No update during transit: Once a package is on a truck or plane between facilities, it won't be scanned until it reaches the next hub. This can take 1-2 days with no tracking update.
Weekend and holiday delays: Carriers may not update tracking over weekends or holidays. If your package shipped on Friday, you may not see updates until Monday or Tuesday.
When to Be Concerned
Contact support if:
No tracking update for 4+ business days after shipping
Tracking shows "Exception" or "Delay" with no further updates
The estimated delivery date has passed by more than 2 days
Tracking shows the package is stuck in one location for 3+ days
Common Tracking Issues and Meanings
"In Transit - Delayed": The carrier encountered an issue (weather, mechanical, volume) and the package will arrive later than estimated. Usually resolves within 1-2 days.
"Held at Carrier Facility": The package is being held, often due to address issues, weather, or customs (rare for domestic). Check if the carrier needs additional information from you.
"Exception - Incorrect Address": The carrier could not complete delivery due to an address issue. Contact the carrier immediately to correct the address or arrange for pickup.
"Exception - Business Closed": If shipped to a business address, the carrier attempted delivery outside business hours. They will reattempt or you can request a hold for pickup.
What To Do
Step 1: Wait 2 business days if tracking just shows "Label Created" or hasn't updated recently during transit.
Step 2: Check the carrier website directly (UPS or FedEx) for the most current information. Third-party tracking aggregators may be delayed.
Step 3: Contact the carrier if tracking shows an exception or has not updated in 4+ business days.
Step 4: Contact Good Girl Rx support at help.goodgirlrx.com if the carrier cannot resolve the issue.
Weather and Natural Events
Severe weather, natural disasters, and other events can cause significant delays. Carriers prioritize driver safety over delivery schedules during these events. We cannot expedite shipments affected by weather.
During known weather events:
Expect delays of 2-5+ business days
Monitor carrier websites for service alerts
Do not report packages as lost until the carrier resumes normal service in your area
