How to Use Your HSA/FSA Card
Enter your HSA/FSA card as your payment method at checkout
Complete checkout as normal
Your HSA/FSA card will be charged like any other credit or debit card.
Card type: Your HSA/FSA card must have a Visa, Mastercard, or other major card network logo to be processed through our payment system.
If Your HSA/FSA Charge Is Declined
Many customers are able to use HSA/FSA funds, but eligibility ultimately depends on your specific plan and the type of purchase. If your card is declined, this is typically due to plan or merchant restrictions set by your card issuer—not an issue on our end.
Common reasons for declines:
Insufficient funds in your HSA/FSA account
The expense category is not recognized by your plan
Your specific plan doesn't cover weight loss or wellness treatments
Merchant category restrictions set by your card issuer
If declined:
Contact your HSA/FSA administrator to verify coverage and available funds
Complete your purchase using an alternate payment method (personal credit/debit card)
Submit for reimbursement using the steps below
Your HSA/FSA administrator is the best resource to confirm what is eligible and whether your card can be used directly at checkout or only for reimbursement.
Getting Reimbursed
If you pay with a personal card and want reimbursement from your HSA/FSA:
Download your itemized receipt from your patient portal (instructions below)
Submit to your HSA/FSA administrator following your plan's reimbursement process
If required, request a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) from your provider (instructions below)
How to Download Your Prescription
Your HSA/FSA provider may require proof of prescription for reimbursement.
Go to my.goodgirlrx.com and log in
Select Treatment (left sidebar on desktop, bottom navigation on mobile)
Under Active, select the treatment you need documentation for
Locate the Products section
Click the download icon next to Prescriptions
Your prescription PDF will download automatically
How to Download Your Invoice/Receipt
Go to my.goodgirlrx.com and log in
Select Treatment (left sidebar on desktop, bottom navigation on mobile)
Under Active, select the treatment associated with the payment
Scroll to the Payments section
Click on the specific payment you need
Click "Download Receipt"
Your receipt PDF will download automatically
Tip: Most HSA/FSA providers require both the prescription (proof of medical necessity) and the payment receipt (proof of purchase) for reimbursement.
How to Request a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN)
Some HSA/FSA administrators require a Letter of Medical Necessity for reimbursement. You can request this directly from your provider through the patient portal.
Go to my.goodgirlrx.com and log in
Navigate to the Messages section
Important: Toggle the recipient to Doctor (not Support) before sending your message
Send a message stating: "I am requesting a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) for my HSA/FSA reimbursement."
Your doctor and their team will review your request and reply with the LMN as a PDF attachment within the messaging portal
Download the LMN from the message and submit it with your reimbursement request to your HSA/FSA provider
Note: Sending your LMN request directly to your doctor is the fastest way to receive this document. If you send the request to Support instead, the support team will need to coordinate with the medical team on your behalf, which takes longer.
IRS Eligibility
The IRS determines what qualifies as an HSA/FSA eligible expense. Prescription medications generally qualify. However, your specific plan administrator makes the final determination and approval cannot be guaranteed. Your HSA/FSA administrator can provide final confirmation for coverage of any specific purchase.
