The Approval Process Explained
After you submit your intake form, your information is reviewed by a state-licensed physician. This is a genuine medical evaluation — not an automatic process. Your provider assesses your health history, current medications, and clinical eligibility for the treatment you requested.
How You Will Be Notified
Primary notification: Email Check the email address you provided during intake. All approval decisions and important updates are sent by email.
Secondary notification: Patient Portal Log in to your portal at my.goodgirlrx.com to view your treatment status and any messages from your provider.
Typical Timeline
Most reviews are completed within 24-48 hours.
However, your review may take longer if:
Your provider needs additional information from you
A video or phone consultation is required (for patients in NM, KS, WV, LA, MS)
Your health history requires more detailed evaluation
There are potential drug interactions to assess
Weekends or holidays delay processing
If you haven't heard back after 3 business days:
Check your email (including spam/junk folders)
Log in to your patient portal for updates
Contact support through help.goodgirlrx.com
If You Are Approved
When your provider approves your treatment:
You will receive an email confirmation with your treatment plan details
Your payment method will be charged for your selected subscription plan
Your prescription is sent to the pharmacy for fulfillment
Your medication ships with tracking information emailed to you
In your portal, you will see:
Your approved treatment plan
Dosing instructions from your provider
Shipping status and tracking
Next billing date
If You Are Not Approved
Not everyone qualifies for every treatment. If your provider determines that a treatment is not medically appropriate for you:
You will NOT be charged — Your payment method is only charged upon approval
You will receive an explanation — Your provider will explain why you did not qualify
Alternative options may be discussed — In some cases, a different treatment or approach may be recommended
Common reasons for non-approval:
BMI does not meet clinical criteria for GLP-1 medications
Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or MEN 2 syndrome (contraindication for GLP-1s)
Current medications that interact with the requested treatment
Pre-existing conditions that make the treatment unsafe
Incomplete intake information that cannot be verified
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
If you disagree with the decision: Your provider's clinical judgment is final. However, you may provide additional information through the portal if you believe something was overlooked. New medical information (such as updated lab work) may warrant re-evaluation.
What Happens If Additional Information Is Needed?
In some cases, your provider may need more details before making a decision:
You may be asked for:
Clarification about a medication or condition listed in your intake
Recent lab results (such as A1C for diabetes management)
Documentation of a diagnosis
Confirmation of information from your primary care provider
How you will be contacted:
Through your patient portal (check your messages)
By email
Important: Respond promptly. Delays in providing requested information will delay your approval decision.
